Then, they stopped fighting and started owning. They formed the KWV Co-operative, pooled their harvest, built their own brand, and exported to the world. Those bankrupt farmers became the wealthiest families in the country.
We are doing the same for KZN. Currently, you sell your crop to a runner, who sells to a dealer, who makes the profit. The iNkosi yeSativa Co-op changes this.
II. How It Works
You cultivate. You own. You decide. The iNkosi yeSativa Co-operative is a registered South African company — not a government programme, not a scheme, not a middleman. It is owned equally by its members.
Every member is a shareholder. That means real shares, real voting rights, real ownership. Instead of paying for those shares with money, members contribute what they already have — their crop and their knowledge.
When you join, you don't sell your cannabis to someone else. You contribute it to a company you own. The Co-operative then processes, manufactures, brands and sells — in South Africa and internationally — and the profit comes back to you in proportion to what you contributed.
No outside company takes a cut. No dealer decides the price. The members vote on every major decision. The members hire the managers. The members own the brand.
