Master Kush, from the cross between Hindu Kush and Skunk, is a mostly Indica strain (90% Indica / 10% Sativa). It tends to show a pungent, earthy and pine flavor over an earthy background, for a profound, heavy-hitting Indica experience.
It also carries a High THC of 20 – 24%, making it a great choice for anyone looking for a potent, tranquil and deeply relaxing experience.
Origin
Master Kush originated in the Dutch coffee shops of Amsterdam’s Red Light District, where breeders carefully cultivated this legendary strain. It is a cross between two potent, well-known varieties: Hindu Kush and Skunk #1.
Skunk #1 itself has a rich lineage as a hybrid of Afghani, Acapulco Gold and Colombian Gold, which gives the strain its unique combination of potency and flavor. Over time it has become a favorite among enthusiasts for its powerful effects and robust growth.
Master Kush is especially popular on the West Coast of the United States, thriving both indoors and outdoors. Its seeds are prized for reliable growth and high-quality yields, and its stellar genetics earned it first prize at the Highlife Cup in 2017.
Master Kush Sativa or Indica?
Despite its name, Master Kush leans firmly toward the Indica side of the spectrum (90% Indica / 10% Sativa), offering a profound relaxation effect. Its genetics trace back to landrace strains from the Hindu Kush region, which give it a robust, earthy flavor profile. Master Kush is not a sativa but a powerful indica, ensuring deep physical relaxation and a serene mind, perfect for evening use.
Master Kush Effects
The effects of Master Kush are as potent as its heritage suggests, delivering a heavy, full-body relaxation that veterans and novices alike cherish. Its high THC ensures a happy, euphoric onset followed by a soothing, sedative calm that can help ease depression, insomnia and muscle spasms. It is not just about physical relief: it also brings a blissful, hazy cerebral calm that quiets the mind, a powerful choice for anyone seeking complete mental and physical relaxation.
Germinating Master Kush seeds
To ensure a successful start for your Master Kush seeds, proper germination of the seeds is critical. Blimburn Seeds advises a straightforward and effective method for germinating Feminized seeds to promote robust early growth.
Before handling the Master Kush seeds, it’s important to consider their sensitivity and viability. Direct contact with the high PH levels in human skin, which harbors bacteria, can adversely affect the seeds. Therefore, handling them with sterile tweezers or gloves is recommended.
Set Up Your Germination Station: Begin by moistening two paper towels with room temperature water. Lay one paper towel on a plate and spread the seeds on it, spacing them about 2 cm apart. Place the second paper towel on top of the seeds, and make sure to remove any excess water from the plate. Cover the setup with another opaque plate and store it in a warm, dark location.
Monitoring: Make sure paper towels are still moist by checking every 4-6 hours and spraying room temperature water. Typically, germination should occur within 24 to 120 hours. Once the seeds have sprouted tap roots, plant them with the roots facing down and cover with about 2 cm of soil. Remember to water the soil regularly by spraying to keep it moist. It may take up to two weeks for the plants to start growing.
Ideal Conditions: Maintain a consistent temperature of 70-90ºF in the germination area. Use purified room temperature bottled water with a pH level between 5.5 and 7. Keep the seeds away from light, allowing exposure for less than 1 minute before and during germination. Avoid touching the seeds or applying pressure to them.
Record Keeping: To qualify for the three month germination guarantee, it is necessary to follow all the steps outlined in our germination guidelines. Please do not use alternative germination methods, such as using a water bottle or planting directly into soil. Document the germination process through photography or video, as it will be requested when assessing claims for replacement products.
Master Kush Seeds Flowering Time
Master Kush typically flowers in 8 to 10 weeks, a favorite among cultivators for its efficiency. Its resilience and compact size are ideal for indoor growing, though it also thrives outdoors, particularly in climates similar to its native Hindu Kush region.
Growers can expect a generous harvest from Master Kush seeds, with dense, trichome-rich buds that are as potent in effect as they are in fragrance. Its ease of growth and high yield potential make it a top choice for novice and experienced growers alike, ensuring a rewarding cultivation experience.
How to grow Master Kush Seeds?
Master Kush seeds can be grown indoors or outdoors under optimal conditions, to avoid any problems during their development. Although they are compact, robust and moderately easy to grow, we should always prevent any pests.
You can use different growing methods to retain and enhance the terpenes and flavors of your feminized Master Kush buds.
Use a quality substrate. Perlite, peat or coco coir are ideal for moisture retention.
Thanks to the experience of our customers with our feminized Master Kush seeds, we know that we can increase yields by up to 20%.
For optimal indoor cultivation, Blimburn Seeds notes that its naturally compact, bushy stature makes it an ideal candidate for the SOG (Sea of Green) method. It thrives in small spaces and does not require wide, vertical spaces or ScrOG, as it has very little stretch. If you plan to grow our feminized seeds outdoors, we have developed a grow guide for optimal cultivation in any area of the world.
Remember that our plants also need good nutrients as seedlings, in their vegetative period and finally in their flowering period.
When growing outdoors, choose the best date for your crop and a place where the plants receive the most hours of sunshine. If you prefer to grow indoors, use good tents, textile pots, led lighting, an air extractor to circulate clean air and, of course, a good carbon filter to avoid problems with neighbors or the law.
Keep daytime temperatures between 68-80 ℉ and nighttime temperatures 7 to 9 ℉ cooler than the day.
Feminized plants need low humidity to thrive. Keep relative humidity (RH) at 55%-60% during the vegetative phase, reduce it to around 40% during flowering and to about 30% by harvest.
Outdoors, growers in the Northern Hemisphere should sow in spring to harvest around October. Healthy feminized Master Kush seeds produce about 28.22 – 35.27 oz/plant | 800 – 1000 gr/plant of buds each.
Indoors, these crops have a flowering time of 8 – 10 weeks and produce about 1.31 – 1.97 oz/ft² | 400 – 600 gr/m².
Ideal Climate for Growing
Master Kush flourishes in a warm, temperate climate with dry summers and moderate winters. The optimal temperature range is 70-80 ℉ (21-27 ℃), which fosters robust growth and enhances its potent effects.
It appreciates consistent sunlight and well-draining soil, so it is ideal for growers who can provide those conditions. Good airflow and careful humidity control also contribute to a successful grow.
In the United States, ideal locations include California, Oregon, Nevada, Arizona, Texas and Florida, each offering the warm temperatures and ample sunshine needed to maximize the strain’s potential. In these climates, cultivators can count on healthy, high-yielding plants and an exceptional harvest.
What does the strain smell like?
The buds of Master Kush are rock hard, soaked in resin and carry a crystalline sheen from the sheer amount of trichomes. Its taste and aroma are a classic, pungent blend of spicy hashish incense, sharp sour citrus and damp earth.
Master Kush makes a delicious, smooth smoke and delivers a powerful, tranquil and deeply sedative experience. Thanks to its large resin production, it is also an ideal strain for high quality extracts and conc
