CANNA Coco 50L Bag: Professional Plus Coco, Ready to Pot This is CANNA Coco Professional Plus, the loose coco medium CANNA has been bagging for growers since the 1990s. It is made from 100% coco flakes, and roughly 45% of that material is wood cellulose, which keeps the structure from collapsing as the run goes on. CANNA washes the coco in fresh water, so salts never get a chance to settle into the fiber. It is then fully buffered, meaning the cation sites that would normally grab calcium and magnesium from your feed arrive already loaded. The practical result is simple to see in the runoff: the feed you mix is the feed the roots get. The water to air ratio is 73% to 23%, which gives roots plenty to drink without drowning them. The coco is not steam treated, a deliberate choice CANNA makes to keep the natural resistance a clean medium holds against moulds. It carries the RHP quality mark and never touches outdoor ground during production. Each bag holds 50 L of loose medium, open and ready to fill containers. No soaking, no brick to break, no rinse. Running CANNA Coco Coir From Transplant to Harvest Growers running CANNA coco coir usually pot straight out of the bag into containers of at least five litres. A bigger pot holds a steadier root zone. Water until ten to twenty percent drains from the bottom. Then wait until the plant has used about half of that volume before irrigating again. In the first weeks one watering a day is usually enough under normal conditions. As the canopy fills in, most rooms move to two feeds, one a couple of hours after lights on and one before lights off. CANNA's target for the feed is a pH between 5.5 and 6.2, with a root zone EC of roughly 1.1 to 1.3 by the extraction method. A thin layer of clay pebbles at the bottom of large pots helps the drainage along. Keep the medium a little on the dry side rather than soaking wet. That extra air is where the white, branching root mass comes from. Nothing is pre-charged with fertilizer here, so the plant goes hungry fast on plain water once it is past the seedling stage. CANNA built its COCO A and B feed around this buffering. It runs from rooting through flower without a separate grow and bloom formula. After harvest the spent coco can be reused a few times, or worked into a potting mix as a conditioner for outdoor beds. Key Features 100% coco flakes: About 45% wood cellulose holds the structure together through a full run and the reuse after it. Washed in fresh water: Salts are rinsed out before bagging, so the starting EC stays clean and predictable. Fully buffered: Cation sites arrive pre-loaded, so the calcium and magnesium in your feed stay available to the plant. 73/23 water to air ratio: Roots get steady moisture with enough oxygen to keep them white and branching. Not steam treated: CANNA leaves the medium unsteamed to keep its natural resistance against moulds like Pythium. RHP quality mark: Produced off the ground under the strict Dutch standard for professional potting media. Loose and reusable: Pours straight into pots with no soaking, and the spent coco can run again or condition potting soil.
