The DAB Mascontrol Pump Controller Replaces the Tank and the Switch

A pressure tank stores water so the pump does not restart every time someone opens a valve. This does the same job electronically, in a head that threads onto the discharge side. Mas Control watches pressure and flow together, not just pressure. It starts the pump when pressure drops to 31.9 psi and stops it a few seconds after flow ceases. Bypass flow above 0.21 gpm is enough to hold it running. This is the 1 in NPT male version, rated for flows up to 15 gpm and 145 psi maximum working pressure. It will switch a motor drawing up to 16 FLA at 115V or 20 FLA at 230V. Liquid up to 149°F is within spec. Run-dry protection cuts the motor when the suction line loses water. A restart button brings it back once the cause is fixed.
Mounting an Electronic Pump Controller on a Vertical Column
Mount it on a vertical water column with the electronics box level. That is a requirement, not a preference. Laid on its side the internal valve will not seat properly, and you get nuisance cycling or a controller that never releases the pump. The body is PA6GF30 reinforced polyamide with an AISI 304 stainless flow valve, an EPDM diaphragm and a stabilized steel spring. Electronics sit behind a NEMA 12 enclosure with a half-inch NPT conduit entry, so it wires like any other piece of pump-room gear. Two limits decide whether this is the right controller for a given system. The flow ceiling above is the first, and a pump that regularly moves more than that needs the 1-1/4 in version instead. The second limit is cycling. On a line with small persistent leaks the pump restarts on every drip, where a pressure tank would have absorbed them. A small buffer tank alongside the controller fixes that without giving up constant pressure.
Key Features
31.9 psi Cut-In: Starts the pump as soon as pressure falls to the setpoint, so taps and emitters see steady delivery.
Pressure and Flow Sensing: Reads both, which is why it stops on no-flow rather than waiting for pressure to climb.
Run-Dry Protection: Cuts the motor when the suction line loses prime, before the mechanical seal overheats.
1 in NPT Male Connections: Threads straight onto a vertical riser off the pump discharge with no adapters.
115V/230V Dual Voltage: Switches up to 16 FLA at 115V or 20 FLA at 230V, covering most single-phase jet and booster pumps.
NEMA 12 Enclosure: PA6GF30 body, AISI 304 valve and EPDM diaphragm hold up in humid, splash-prone pump rooms.
