Dosatron Flow Restrictor 10 GPM: Protecting a D25 Series Injector
This is the 3/4-inch, 10 GPM flow restrictor from Dilution Solutions, part number FR34-10GPM. It limits how much water can pass through the line, no matter how much pressure sits behind it.

This is the 3/4-inch, 10 GPM flow restrictor from Dilution Solutions, part number FR34-10GPM. It limits how much water can pass through the line, no matter how much pressure sits behind it. Dosatron recommends installing one on the inlet side of the injector whenever the supply could exceed the unit rating. The D25 series is rated for up to 11 GPM. A main line that can deliver more than that will overrun the injector. When that happens, the water-driven piston runs faster than designed. Wear climbs, and the dosing ratio stops tracking reliably. Capping the line at 10 GPM keeps the unit inside its working range with a small margin. The restrictor is a simple inline part with no moving controls to adjust. It pairs with the matching D14 series version, rated at 14 GPM, for larger injectors.
Where a 3/4 Flow Restrictor Goes in the Line
A 3/4 flow restrictor belongs upstream of the injector, on the water supply side. Put it after the main shutoff and any sediment filter, and before the Dosatron inlet. Most installers also add a pressure gauge and a bypass loop around the injector. The bypass lets you service the unit without shutting down irrigation. Confirm the restrictor's orientation before tightening the fittings. Size matters here, so match the restrictor to the injector series, not to the pipe alone. A 14 GPM insert on a D25 unit defeats the purpose. Once installed, run the system at full demand and confirm the injector clicks at a steady pace. An erratic stroke usually points to air or debris in the line rather than the restrictor.
Key Features
10 GPM Cap: Holds line flow below the D25 series limit of 11 GPM.
3/4 in Connection: Matches the inlet size on D25 series injectors.
Inlet-Side Install: Dosatron recommends it wherever supply could exceed the unit rating.
No Adjustment Needed: A fixed inline part with no controls to set.
Protects Dosing Accuracy: Keeps the piston motor in its designed speed range.
