Why 1,400 Rapid Rooter Plugs Is a Nursery Decision
A case runs 1,400 plugs at 1.5 inches round, and lands near 50 lb on the pallet note. That is a nursery number rather than a tent number. A propagation house turning trays every week will move it comfortably.
Purchase directly from Growers HouseWhy 1,400 Rapid Rooter Plugs Is a Nursery Decision
A case runs 1,400 plugs at 1.5 inches round, and lands near 50 lb on the pallet note. That is a nursery number rather than a tent number. A propagation house turning trays every week will move it comfortably. Someone starting a dozen seeds in spring will not, and the 50 pack is the honest answer there. What sits inside each one is sphagnum peat moss and composted tree bark, held together by a plant derived foam polymer. General Hydroponics states the media carries high populations of beneficial microbes that colonise young roots, and that it is fortified with their own micronutrients. A pre-drilled hole in the top takes the seed or the cutting.
Storing and Rehydrating Bulk Plugs Properly
Rehydration is the step most growers rush. General Hydroponics asks for a soak in pH balanced water at about 6.0 for roughly two hours. Squeeze each one four or five times while it sits. The target is thoroughly damp and never dripping. Skip it and the centre stays dry, which is exactly where the root is meant to travel. After that, keep the tray moist with no more than a quarter inch of standing water. A dome on top, 75 to 80°F, and sixteen to eighteen hours of light. When roots show at the sides, the whole thing transplants into coco, soil or a hydroponic system without being pulled apart. At this quantity, soak in batches and keep the rest of the case sealed so it does not dry on the shelf.
Key Features
1,400 per case: At 1.5 inches round, which is roughly 50 lb of media in one box.
Peat moss and tree bark: Sphagnum peat and composted bark, bound by a plant derived foam polymer.
Microbes in the media: General Hydroponics states the plugs carry populations that colonise young roots.
Fortified with micronutrients: The manufacturer's own micronutrient package is built into the matrix.
Pre-drilled hole: Takes a seed or a cutting without any preparation on your part.
Two hour soak first: In pH balanced water near 6.0, squeezing four or five times as it sits.
Damp, never dripping: A plug that is soaked through suffocates the root it was meant to feed.
Quarter inch of water: No deeper in the tray, with a dome, 75 to 80°F and 16 to 18 hours of light.
Transplants whole: Into coco, soil or hydroponics, with no need to pull the media apart.
Keep the case sealed: Soak in batches so the rest does not dry out between sessions.
