Grower's Edge Trellis Net 5 x 60 ft | 3.5 in Squares, Soft Nylon

Why 3.5 Inch Trellis Netting Is the Tighter Choice Mesh size is the only decision that matters once you have settled on nylon, and this is the tighter of the two Grower's Edge make. A smaller square catches lateral growth closer to the stem and holds a plant more firmly. That suits branches that are short and heavy rather than long and whippy. What it costs you is access. A 3.5 in square takes two fingers rather than a hand, so tucking through it is slower than a wider square. On a short row that is a fair trade. Across a long commercial bench it adds up. The other half of this product is the material. Nylon is knitted here rather than extruded, so the net gives slightly as a branch loads it and springs back when the load comes off. Rigid plastic mesh does not do that, and a stem pressed against a fixed plastic edge all cycle will score. Nylon also survives being taken down, washed and rehung, which is where the cost per cycle on this product really comes from. Weight is 1.015 lb a roll, which tells you how light the strand gauge is and why it drapes rather than standing proud. Picking a Roll Length for Soft Mesh Plant Support Grower's Edge make this mesh in five lengths, all of them 5 ft wide. The ladder runs 15 ft, 30 ft, 60 ft, then a 225 ft bulk roll and a 450 ft bulk roll. This one is the 60 ft, which sits at the top of the single-room sizes and below the bulk formats. Work out what you need from bench length rather than from room area. One layer over a four by eight bench takes roughly eight feet of run. A 60 ft roll therefore covers around seven benches singly, or half that in two layers. Two layers a foot apart holds a canopy far better than one tight layer. That is the usual reason a roll goes faster than people expect. Above this size the 225 ft and 450 ft rolls bring the price per foot down. They are the right choice once more than one room is being netted. The trade case pack for this size is nine rolls at 41.525 lb, which is worth knowing if you are stocking rather than installing. Install it vertically for vining crops and horizontally as a scrog layer. Key Features 3.5 in squares: Tighter support, with slower access than a six inch mesh. Knitted nylon, not extruded: It gives under load and springs back rather than scoring a stem. Washable and reusable: Comes down, gets cleaned and goes back up for another cycle. 5 ft wide by 60 ft long: The largest of the single-room sizes in this mesh. 1.015 lb a roll: A light strand gauge, which is why it drapes rather than stands. Part HGC740134: The part number for this roll. Vertical or horizontal: Hangs for vining crops or lies flat as a scrog layer. Five lengths in this mesh: 15, 30 and 60 ft, then 225 ft and 450 ft bulk rolls.
