KDF85 uses copper-zinc granules and a redox reaction to strip chlorine, dissolved metals, scale, and hydrogen sulfide. The highly reactive catalytic carbon is extremely porous and long lasting, and it handles the chloramine that ordinary carbon leaves behind. Its bacteriostatic media keeps microorganisms from breeding in the cartridge. Rated at 20 micron with a 16,000-gallon capacity, it runs as the carbon step ahead of your RO membrane. It is NSF certified for drinking water systems.
