Coup Sun Polarized Fit and Frame Geometry
Frame geometry decides whether a pair of glasses gets worn. The eye is 54 mm, the bridge 20 mm and the temple 130 mm, on a base 6 curve. That is a medium width wayfarer, so a narrow face will find it comfortable and a very wide one may not.

Frame geometry decides whether a pair of glasses gets worn. The eye is 54 mm, the bridge 20 mm and the temple 130 mm, on a base 6 curve. That is a medium width wayfarer, so a narrow face will find it comfortable and a very wide one may not. A base 6 curve is a mild wrap, enough to block side light without the distortion of a sports lens. The frame material is TR90, a thermoplastic that flexes under pressure and returns, and the hinges are concealed flex hinges rather than exposed barrels. Method Seven have the frames made in Italy. The lens is what Method Seven call SUNp, a lightweight shatterproof polymer with full ultraviolet protection. Polarizing technology comes from Carl Zeiss Vision, which is also why a phone screen stays readable through them.
From the Grow Room to the Truck, Without Lying About Color
A grow room lens and a sunglass lens are asked to do opposite things, and this is the outdoor one. Most sunglasses either flatten color or push it, which is fine for driving and useless for judging a plant. The SUN lens darkens moderately and holds the color balance instead, so a leaf looks like the colour it actually is. Polarization is the part that matters outdoors, because most of what hides leaf detail is reflected glare off the surface. Cut that and you see pigment rather than shine, which is the difference between spotting an early deficiency and missing it. The anti reflective coating Method Seven call the purps is what gives the inside of the lens its purple sheen. Note the obvious limit: this is a sun lens, so it is the wrong choice under high pressure sodium or full spectrum fixtures indoors. Method Seven make separate lenses for each of those, and wearing this one under lamps just makes the room dark. Anyone wanting one pair for both jobs is asking a single filter to solve two different spectra. It does not work, and the brand do not claim it does.
