Model 27ASCAN4-120 is a manually scanned screen filter with a stainless element and a corrosion-proof polypropylene body. Cleaning is the whole point of the design. You open the flush valve and turn the handle, which rotates a dirt collector so suction nozzles sweep the full face of the screen. Water keeps moving through the filter the entire time, so the set never stops and the block never loses pressure. The whole cycle runs about 10 seconds. That is short enough that operators do it on schedule, instead of waiting until emitters start plugging and someone has to pull laterals apart.
Where a 4 Inch Angle Screen Filter Fits in the Line
The angle body is the compact one at 31 in tall and 20 in long. It drops into a filter shed or a pump house where the 54-inch twin body will not fit. It carries 300 GPM across 194 sq in of screen at up to 120 psi. Inlet and outlet are flanged, and the flanges strip off for a victaulic connection. Netafim positions it as a primary filter for well water carrying a little sand, for center pivots, and for reservoir water with light algae. Flushing needs 20 psi minimum and works best near 30 psi, so check downstream pressure before committing. Heavy organic load is the wrong job for any screen. Algae mats crush against the mesh instead of releasing, and a disc filter handles that water better. Most growers put it at the pump station, upstream of the mainline, where one flush protects every block downstream.
Key Features
Scan-and-flush cleaning in about 10 seconds: Turning the handle rotates the dirt collector so nozzles sweep the screen while irrigation keeps running.
120 mesh at 130 microns: Fine enough to protect drip emitters and micro-sprinklers from sand and grit carried out of a well.
300 GPM through 194 sq in of screen: Surface area is what gives time between flushes, so a larger element stretches the cleaning interval.
Corrosion-proof polypropylene body: Nothing to rust at an outdoor filter station, paired with a stainless steel screen that holds its shape.
Flanged 4-inch inlet and outlet: Remove the flanges for a victaulic connection when the header is grooved rather than bolted.
