A Thermostat Station puts out 24V at a maximum of 1A to stand in for the thermostat on an HVAC unit. The AC Remote Station talks to a mini split the way its own handset does. None of them switch line voltage themselves, which is why a modest splash rated box is enough for the job. Pair it with the ECW-1 waterproof RJ12 coupler when the cable run also sits in the wet.
